    Information re my Airconditioning unit.

Hey guys! So I'm just starting my rebuild finally! just wanting a bit of information. My 76' p6 had air con fitted when I got it. I'm just wondering if it is an original unit? I can't seem to find it in the workshop manual, and I've yet to see a p6 with a similar unit fitted. The compressor...

ID plates.. a little help please!

hey guys! i remember years ago, somebody on this forum told me that possibly one of my p6 rovers was a factory parts bin car produced at the end of production in 76. Is there any way to identify this? i've been told that supplementary tanks were only fitted to LHD NADA 3500S from 1969 through to...

    Electric Windows...

Okay!! So I've tried modifying doors and such for a good electric window modification to nothing great. What is a good aftermarket kit? Preferably I'd prefer to be able to reupholster the doors and not have the old cap over the top.. But if so.. then that is okay. What kits have people used...

    Problem.. Parking lights, indicators, gauges

Wow! Thanks for all the detailed replies! I really do appreciate it! When it's daylight I will give the fuses a look see.. I did test them although it wouldnt hurt wiggling them around and mixing and matching fuses to see if this is the issue! I forgot to mention with the tail light issue, the...

    Rev counter over reading

I've fitted modified mine a little bit. Aluminium heat shielding and a smaller fan.. Temperature is good, and no issue at all with over reading. Simple modification as the fan is attached to the back of the cluster (speedo, tacho etc...) I get a reading of about 15degrees. I should of taken...

    Rev counter over reading

This is odd. I had a dash left out of one of my p6's. majority of the gauges were faulty, clock, speedo, tacho and fuel... Being hot in australia this is probably why. Now they work perfect its winter! May put some heat shielding in between the dash and the gauges!

    Fuse Box Replacement

Hi Paul, thanks again for your detailed responses. It makes it easy to decide on what to do and how to go about it. I really do appreciate it. Currently mounting it anywhere for the "comfort" factor will not be an issue. As there is no dash in it. The second fuse box sits next to the current...

    Fuse Box Replacement

Thanks guys. Okay so I may just go through and remove the fuse box and replace it with the wedge fuse box I have. Should I mount it in the engine bay? I know it's a big job.. although is it the best option? I don't mind this as I want it right the first time. And causing a fire isn't...

    Fuse Box Replacement

Hello Paul, thankyou so much for the reply. The current fuse box in it is in perfect condition. So keeping it in there is preferable. My fuse box doesn't seem to have any spare fuse places left.. so adding another box is probably the easiest / best solution. I have both a spare p6 original...

    Fuse Box Replacement

Hey all! Okay so I'm adding things such as air conditioning, gas conversion, electric windows and such things to my p6. All up I have about 8 - 10 inline fuses and it's getting pretty messy trying to locate them all under the dash and if I had to replace one further down the line... god help me...

wiring a new accessory wire and central locking qu

Hey all, Just wondering how I would go about wiring in new accessory wires? I just don't like the idea of having one accessory wire running multiple things. I'm sure it wouldnt be great!! I'm wanting to wire one in so I can run my electric windows off it! Also I'm in the process of installing...

fitting an electric choke / res fuel

Hi guys! Wow thanks so much for all of the response. I was considering going electric because trying to find a new choke cable with the original push pull knob is hard. Nowhere in Australia has parts! I couldn't find one wreckers with a rover!! I only have my 2 rovers which both choke cables...

fitting an electric choke / res fuel

Hey dave! Thanks very much for the reply. I was thinking still having the cable running to the carby and fuel reserve, although have a motor pushing and pulling it when required. I don't mind having a switch to turn the motor on and off! It would be simple to setup much like a solanoid off a...

fitting an electric choke / res fuel

Hey guys! So recently I've decided instead of locating a choke cable and res fuel cable I've decided I want it all electric. I'm aware you still need a cable to the carby and res fuel tank, although a solenoid or something similar to pull the cable automatically would be preferred. Has anyone...

    Choke and Reserve Petrol Removal

Yeah in the end I took the cable out from the tap! It is right under the fuel tank and was easily removed, thanks. On my 76 P6 bolted onto the fuel tank is another tank? Or something.. I thought this would of been the reserve fuel tank. It isn't on my 73P6 hence why I thought the option was...

    venting switch..

Hey all! Just wondering.. Im currently rebuilding the dash in my P6. Although I'm using some of the dash from a 76 P6b which has different switch mounts and such. (My car is RHD) the vent lever to the right (single leaver by its self labled "AIR 1,2,3") which also holds the choke and reserve...
