    Fule line blockage....

Guys - I've a had a periodic problem where I'm getting this fibreglass type whispy material - almost like a cockoon for a moth or something - working it's way from the direction of the tank and getting stuck just before my electric fuel pump causing at best a spluttering under load and at worst...

    Is this the correct hose?

Guys - could you take a look at this and let me know to the best of your knowledge if it looks like a genuine bit for my 1975 3500. I have looked on t'internet quite a lot for these hoses and have seen several different part numbers. Cheers... Steve. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/rover-2....iewItem

    Darkness and lights...

Hi guys - just a quick question so I know in which direction to go - if indeed it is as simple as that. My side lights work fine, my dipped lights work fine and my 'flashing' lights up all four headlights, however, when I put the lights on main beam permanently pushing the stalk up, they all go...

    3500 auto box has leaked!

Although I'm not sure of the capacity without checking, It doesn't appear to have lost a huge amount - maybe a pint or so. I'll get on me back and have a look as soon as I get a chance (ooh err missus)....

    3500 auto box has leaked!

Morning guys and a happy new year to everyone. I've come back from new year in Scotland to find lots of pink fluid under the car!! Now I know this is the colour of the auto gearbox oil, but am a bit of a loss why it should suddenly have leaked out. Could someone with a bit more of a grasp on...

Intermittent wipe - How to replace your sponge - PICTURES!

My wipers do not return to the their parked position at all - have to time the turning on and off. Like wise when I put them on intermittent they just move across the screen and stop. I'll have a look at replacing the sponge anyway, but what's causing them not to return? Is it as easily fixable...

Rust - how does it work??

This may sound like a really dumb question, but it's one of those I've never really known the answer to and the sort of question everyone wants to know but is too embarassed to ask....and I was crap at physics and chemistry at school! I've a few patches of rust appearing in the normal places -...

    Fuel vapourisation

Yep - I can confirm that. My 3500 auto suffered terribly last summer, but the new electric pump has performed admirably. Does make a bit of a ticking noise when you're low on fuel, but it's a small price to pay. Cheers Steve.

Headlamps - Headlamps go off when high beam on

Exactly the same happened to me - main beam on, headlamps off. Checked the fuse box and one of the fuses had a big lump of hardened plastic on it that had once melted. I cleaned this up put it back and saw the light..... Cheers Steve.

    Timekeeping problems.

Cheers guys - I'll have another play when I get a chance and let you know. Now you come to mention it, I do remember the extra loud click every couple of minutes or so. So in that respect it does sound like the power isn't getting through, although my trusty 12v tester says the connection does...

    Timekeeping problems.

Well I spent most of Sunday slapping and banging and twisting and absolutely no joy - and then I went I tried to fix the clock on my P6!! No seriously, a sharp tap on the side got the clock ticking and it carried on for about two to four minutes each time and then stopped. I then realised it...

That old cherry - the unleaded debate.

Cheers for that Gary. I will be trying the shell optimax just as soon as I get down to Exeter where I keep my P6 and I've used all 8 gallons of LRP I've got in the tank at the moment...so about 80 miles :( I'll let you all know how I get on.. Steve.

    Timekeeping problems.

Hopefully this is a real simple one, but I left my lights on recently (none of these fancy 'lights on' warning buzzers), drained the battery and obviously the clock stopped. Now I'll be gubbered if I can get it working again. I had it out once a while back and as soon as I reconnected it it...

    What's that noise? - A mystery!

Blimey - a sort of rattle you think sounds like it's coming from the front - well that narrows it down to 250 moving parts! :) Can't help an awful lot except to say the recent rattle, grating sort of rubbing noise I had on my V8 (definitely coming from the front) was indeed my water pump...

That old cherry - the unleaded debate.

Cheers John - you seem to be permanently connected to the forum so I kind of guessed you'd be one of the first! Your reply has simplified everything so I'll give it a try in the next few weeks and let you know how I get on. Thanks again, Steve.

That old cherry - the unleaded debate.

Hi guys - now I know there have been numerous discussions on this as well as very informative articles (John's in particular) in the magazine, so bear with me for starting another one, but to be honest I've found the information a bit confusuing and the amount quite overwhelming ??? I don't...

    Autobox thump going into reverse/drive.

I've learnt with time how to use my auto geabox on my series II V8. When cold, everything is fine with nice smooth changes - up and down - however once things warm up I do get the 'clonk' when going into reverse, I also get a clonk when pottering around town in drive (top gear) say about 20 mph...
