After all the hard work we put into restoring our 1972 2000 TC unfortunatley its time to move on
Car is now in good condition not A1 yet but as always will require looking after and a bit here and there
I can no longer drive manuals - so we have listed on EBay Item number: 120725121920 for...
Noticed the oil pressure would not go above 25 and started tothink the worst
On further inspection also noticed needle was just catching against face of dial at 25 - it was too brittle to adjust - i would have broke it
(I had changed a dash bulb and not fitted facia back correctly - Dohhh)...
Rebuilt calipers with new seals refitted them all fine (Thanks to some nice pictures of what to expect)
Last job connect feed and link pipes
(Opppps I didnt strip them which one goes where?)
Took a 50/50 chance and put main feed pipe into bottom hole and link pipe into top hole. :roll...
Trying to find where my annoying squeak is coming from
(i left the wife at home so it aint her earings)
I have changed the trailing arm bushes & still got it?when you accelerate the squeak appears and is constant, ease off the fuel and it goes away. sound like its coming from rear ?
I am...
I have just fitted a pair of rear seat belts straight in to fixing points - no problems
Not happy with the belt rubbing over the backrest

Time to look for insurance any recommendations?
Presently on line quote from Lancasters £121 which i dont think is so bad??
Agreed Valuation + Windscreen Cover + Voulantary Excess £250 with Compulsory of £100
Would a pair of Rover 75 seats fit into my 2000 TC without much adaptation.
I am sure someone has fitted some - what were the problems / issues to be overcome
I am presently using a passengers backrest on drivers side (makes leg room restrictive with not been able to slide back by seatbelt)...
Just ordered a pair of bump stops as mine didnt have any - surprise
On looking at fixing point original bump stops must have been bonded on as i cannot see any fixing bolts screws or owt.
So what would be the best to fix new stops in place some sort of mastic?
cheers

Just started to work on underside and found the de-dion gator well gone it had ben covered with a strip of leather jubileed over - quite some years ago by the looks of it .
On removal the oil leaked out of what was left of the old gaitor underneath - one more to sort out.
Removed de- dion tube...
Family keep telling me they have seen a Beige v8 in surrounding villages Thurnscoe - Goldthorpe - Hickleton.
Is this a club member who lives local? or just passing through

Just a thought
on replacing my seatbelts i noticed that they didnt lock with snatching the strap while car is stood.
on checking them out they work on a weight system which locks when the weight is displaced from horizontal.
I believe these to be fine, but what about when its time for MOT...

To fit the rear fogs from what i can see
you cant fit to outside of overriders due to exhaust, so offset overiders - this i think would not look right
Make a mounting bracket from overider fixing bolt to fit on inside of overiders.
or
Drill bumper and bolt direct - my choice at moment.
Has...
Just inspected my centre console to clean it up before refit and found most of the fixing points are broken off - fixable maybe? maybe not ?
Has anyone got a decent one with fixing points not broken off?

Bit of a quandry, I didnt take the old wings and bonnet off so would seek a little bit of knowledge
Where the top fixing point is for the front wing to the bonnet hindge.
Does the fixing point go under the bonnet hindge or sit above it?
Cheers

I have noticed some play/ wobble when you try to move blades back and forward on the fan on the water pump.
I would think this is the bearing and presume it would be on the water pump drive shaft to the fan?
