HI Colin, yes mine is a"R" 2200tc, our other contact was about a spare engine, which I now know to be a mongrel. Yes the rocker cover is grey, the air cleaner element box is shiny black. The engine block is matt black. Next time its anice sunny day I will go and photo the beast. Regards Joe.

Item 37 inrepair manual does read, fillerpipe etc, but inparts book item 37 is breather and drain pipe for petrol tank. Thats the small diameter pipe that fits on top of tank, nothing to do with fillerpipe. Hope that helps Regards Joe.

Hello Ron, can I hijack your topic to ask if John's answer would help to test fuel gauge/fuel tank sender, to find which is at fault. Joe.

I have a 2200cc which has been stood for 8 yrs.+, I pumped out as much of the fuel the pump and turn over on battery would allow, Then filled with unleaded. Carbs dismantled and cleaned, the old girl ran like a rocket, but after 3 mile run to MOT station and stood for a few dayss carbs...

Can anyone confirm that Rover part Nos. for 2200 air cleaners are common with some Jaguar's. I need oblong rubber seal that fits around the lip of back section(bolted to carbs.), my first port of call did not have the bit but, gave me this info. The Rover part no is RTC 0312?.Any advice would...
