labels and paint

Hi,

I am wondering if any one could send me a couple of pictures of a 2200tc engine bay.

I am going to repaint the engine, the engine bay and put on the original stickers back in.

Also can anyone can recommend good engine paints in the correct colours.

I am not really worried about the bay paint it is more the labels and their position in the engine bay and also the block and head colours.

I have 1 head stripped to the alloy, one painted grey and have seen them in blue.

So if anyone has a picture then let me know.

I am still looking for an engine bay picture or the correct colours for a 2200tc engine.

Hi Bennet,

I did see that one.

It is a 2000 and mine a 2200, they have different rocker covers.

I am trying to find out the correct colours for the engine block and the head which is currently grey.

I am putting a bit of time into her to make her look as good as she is sound and don't want to be ashamed to lift the bonnet at shows, not that I am a polishing type...no cheque book restorations in my house and pictures to prove...LOL

Hi, Colin, Its not to interesting under there, all black, battleship gray rocker cover, stickers as "BB"s ebay link. I have tried to improve my photo e-mailing since my last effort but you cannot improve on the first sentence. Regards Joe.

You have a 2200tc don't you?

Is the tc rocker definatley grey? what about the block any idea what the actual colour is? is the air filter thingy mat black, shine black, grey or silver?

I don't really want to make the car nice and original and spoil it with incorrect colours. I would never stand a chance of winning a trophy at a show.

HI Colin, yes mine is a"R" 2200tc, our other contact was about a spare engine, which I now know to be a mongrel.
Yes the rocker cover is grey, the air cleaner element box is shiny black. The engine block is matt black. Next time its anice sunny day I will go and photo the beast. Regards Joe.
 
Hi Joe,

The engine I have now has got has a grey rocker and a Blue/green block which I thought to be original as the characters 2.2 have been stenciled on. I am interested to hear you have a black block.

If you can get a photo that would be great.

I am surprised how few people seem to own post 72 2200's.

Colin, leave it with me, Iwill get some red diesel and a paint brush and clean an area , then give you a diffinitive answer, this car has been in our family since June 1978, so I know the engine has not been messed about with, so it's 29 years of muck to wash off. Regards Joe.
