Hi Peter, Good to hear that so many people are so enthousiastic about the swap. As you can read above I am progressing in my preparations but have some minor questions and I am missing a few bits . Maybe you can share your experience with us. In the eastern part of Netherlands we have a group...

Hi Barten, Yes I have a sliding solid sunroof - a very unique option - I have not seen many other P6's with it. My P6 is originally from Switzerland - maybe that is the reason. I hope to have the swap ready in 6-8 weeks from now regards, Eugène

Hi Peter, thanks for the warm welcome! I think I already have most information and many parts already - BMW E34 autobox: in stock - RR bellhousing: in stock - this week I'm picking up a 4.0 torque converter + flexplate + gearplate + bits to match - Jaguar flange to propellor shaft: still...

Hi to all, I own a '71 P6-3500 in almond yellow already for 17 or 18 years. It is in fairly good condition although some (many...?) technical aspects of this car can be improved. The reason for joining this forum is my plan to change the BW35 for a 4HP22 (2017) Next step (2018) is to swap from...

    starter motor only clicks SOLVED

It appeared to be corroded terminals at the relais (in the right top corner in the engine bay next to the firewall and the oiltank for the power steering) This additional relais is not to be confused with the solenoid at the starter. At works fine now Cheers Eus

    starter motor only clicks SOLVED

Re: starter motor only clicks hi, thanks for yr reply. I tried 2 different starters with solenoid, both work fine on the workbench. Both starter and solenoids have the same problem in the car, so the solenoid can't be the cause. After installing a new battery , the problem was still not...

Re: starter motor only clicks I jumpstarted the engine with cables to our other car. Now it started and I can also start without jumpstart. Beats me....

    starter motor only clicks SOLVED

Re: starter motor only clicks Hi Ron I exchanged the starter motor by a spare one but with the same results. The issue is that the solenoid does not engage because the ground wire W/Y does not make fully contact with 'minus'. When i connect this contact directly with minus (with a ditect by...

    starter motor only clicks SOLVED

Hi all, I fiddeled with wiring for a certein job in my P6 3500 automatic and now my P6 won't start any more - battery is 100% OK - clicks in 'N' and not in other settings (1, 2 , D), I also checked (with Ohm meter) the inhibitor switch, it nicely switches as it should do, - starter motor works...

Brake bleeding problems (dual line) SOLVED

Re: Brake bleeding problems (dual line) Hi Tor, yes I think we can take the device, it is only meant for (rear) brake failure indication. And a possible cause for error and fluid leakage. Agree?

Brake bleeding problems (dual line) SOLVED

It turned out to be a defective master cylinder (under the foot pedal). I overhauled it with new rubbers and I was able to bleed very easy. Also I suspect that pushing the pedal all the way to the floor may not necessairily always be the appropriate way to bleed. Cylinder is more prone to suck...

Re: Brake bleeding problems (dual line) Tor and Vern, thanks for your contribution. I will try bleed the 5 way junction first and see if this helps

    Bleeding dual circuit (really now!)

Hi Tor, I opened another issue yesterday about bleeding a duel system because your problem seemed to be different. However, maybe you can help me out as well. I'm having trouble with getting the air out of my braking lines. I suspect the master cylinder to suck environmental air when releasing...

Brake bleeding problems (dual line) SOLVED

Re: Brake bleeding problems (dual line) Hi Ron, Thanks for the reply, what you describe is more or less the conventional way of bleeding. I assume you have good experience with this procedure with your P6. I'm going to try after work today. Thanks! Eus

Brake bleeding problems (dual line) SOLVED

Hi all, I am a new member, you can all rear read my personal introduction in the 'new member section'! Last week I reconditioned my rear calipers of my P6 3500/1971/dual line. That job went OK. However bleeding the system is causing trouble now. A lot of air is coming through both front...

Hi to you all, My name is Eus and live in the eastern part of Netherlands. I own an Almond P6 3500 of 1971, since 2001. Have used it for daily transportation for about 3 years which was too much work, and my car appeared to be too unreliable despite the good condition the car is in. During the...
