101 reasons why we love our Rovers

Do you think we can come up with a 101 reasons for the time, money and effort we devote to these cars ? I'd like to think that we can but lets see. I'll start

1. It was the first car that I truely stood in front of in awe
2. It was the first car which amazed me with 5 teeneagers in and we didn't crash ( we later got 7 in a mini but thats another story)

Next poster will start at number 3 and so on - no limit - but lets see if we can get 101 reasons together - just for the hell of it

3. The Rover is distinctive and individualistic, especially in modern times.

4. The P6 is the top example of the family cars of my childhood.

5. Even now, it has everything you want from a modern car.... well built, highly engineered, safe, stylish and a joy to drive.

6. It'll never need another facelift, unlike most other cars.... it will always be a cool car.

(Should add that I've been Rover-less for a year now and still have daily cravings for one!)

7. Even with a problem they soldier on with fighting spirit 8)
Not like a modern car where 'computer says no' and you have to phone a truck stranded in a sea of flashing dash lights far from home :roll:

8. The small light guides moulded into the side lights! Beautiful design detail that makes me think how hard they tried to get everything just right.

9. That satisfying solid clunk the doors make when they close, even after 37 years!

12. Having my kids tell their friends at school about the cool car that their dad drives.

13. Having someone visiting the office ask whose is the old Rover parked in the car park.

14. Giving people a lift in what they think is the most comfortable car they've been in.
