I was reading some old motoring magazines today (1954-1956)and one item attracted my attention and it was the adjustment of different types os of valve clearances in particular the adjustment of an overhead cam. The adjustment was a very simple adjustment by the use of eccentric bushes that moved the mechanics in or out to increase or reduce the clearance, it seemed so simple compared to more modern cars where the use of shims are employed.
