Hi all.

It has just passed its mot. :D

Just a couple of advisories that I will sort out asap, going to get it taxed on monday.
Am going to use it for work and back for a week or so as it has been standing for so long.
Need to get the reg number transfered to the P6V8 and its new number and documents sorted then I can put it up for sale, hopefully by February.
Will be taking it to the Shepton Mallet resto show on the 12/13 Feb,so anyone going who is interested can see it there.
Price is a bargain £4295 ovno.
PM me if interested.

Fortunately I just about had the spare'ish cash to do it,and once the car is sold on,and the money back in the bank,it will end up costing me nearly nowt for the plate! :D

For Sale update...

It was bodily, and to some extent mechanically restored in 1988 then locked away in a garage and tinkered with for 23yrs,so some of the body repairs are starting to show again and there are a few scratches from years of storage, but nothing I would consider a major problem.
All I have done is fix the 6v electrics + new battery, sort the brakes,4 new tyres,to get it through its mot and given it a general good clean up and polish.
I havent fixed the clock though!
Its now taxed and road legal, and it actually drives very nice,I was pleasantly surprised,it feels nice and tight!
The reg transfer is in DVLA's hands and should take about 2 wks max for the new docs to come through.
Anyone seriously interested should pm me.
mot 14/1/12,tax 31/12/11.
The price will be £4295 ovno.

What a beauty!!! I restored on about 10 years ago, sold it to buy a splitscreen camper when my first little one came along :D If I had the money let alone the space i'd have another like a shot especially at that price!! Have you looked at putting it on Volkszone? that's no money for an early rhd i'd go for at least £5k on there with 12 months mot and that's still cheap. I'll put it around my local VW club and see it anyones interested.

cheers Jamie

Re: 1967 original rhd VW Karmann Ghia for sale very shortly.

Thanks Jamie.
£5k was suggested by a couple of peeps, but I want a very quick sale and have hopefully priced accordingly.
It does need work and tlc,but all that can be done while enjoying it on the road and deciding how far they want to go with it resto, rat or custom wise.
I will advertise it properly once I have all the new docs in my hand, its going through DVLA transfers right now.
As it happens ive got an eager guy coming down from up north on sunday,he knows he cannot drive it away, but wants to get in first,so hopefully we will do a deal, and he will leave a deposit, and collect when docs and new reg plates are on.

Re: 1967 original rhd VW Karmann Ghia for sale very shortly.

Sadly no he didnt,as he was also looking at a convertible that needed resto work while on his weekend trip, and he has gone for that instead!

Hi Chris.

Considering the large financial outlay and probable risk on the project, and you know what it cost me to buy,add on the cost of new batt, new tyres, various new brake bits, odds and bobs,MOT,reg transfer fee,I have as near as damned it broken even!!!
It was temptingly priced,to sell fast at just above break even money, allowing for a haggle.
The guy hasnt even seen it! ,but we had a good chat,he has seen all the pics, knows all about VW's,as he has a show splittie and a beetle,is coming from Suffolk next sat via train to collect.
In a way I have made a profit,as I was prepared to pay £1200 via a dealer for the PLK1E plate, and ive ended up getting it for free! :D :D
Apart from my time of course!
And its only costing me £6 to make a pair of period correct black and silver number plates,as the horrible modern yellow/white ones are going on the inside garage wall!

Dave

The plan hopefully comes together this sat at midday,he has confirmed his train is booked and the arrival time!!
In plenty of time to go to the bank with him and pay it in,to let them count and check it!
