1972 P6 V8 Auto

CCCP-1985

It is with a sad heart that i am selling my newly aquired Rover P6 V8 Auto.

It was bought with intention to be our wedding car but what i didn't tell her was i hoping to keep it afterwards as a daily classic, however plans have changed, one of them being the loss of the dry storage for a year till the wedding and the other reasons are to depressing to say :(

All i have done since buying her a month agois fix the jamming choke, sort out the dodgy wiring and give it a good clean..

With regards to pictures if you go on Gumtree and type in Rover P6 it should come up with 8 pictures.

Now i paid £1000 and cost £100 to bring it from Sunderland to Edinburgh so i am hoping to make back the £1100, i am not a profit seeking man but if someone is serious then you can make an offer.

Got Mot and Tax exempt disc till November.

Truly depressed with the whole situation but must keep my chin hi and in time i would love to own another V8 P6 Auto, if not the same one!

That all sounds sad.
I hope things take a turn for the better and good luck with the sale of your car.

I thought you were in Fife :?

Sorry to hear about you having to sell the car.

Dave

I live in Fife but work in Edinburgh at the weekends, which is also where the car is stored at the moment.

Will put the car on flea bay next week if it doesn't sell, has to gobut what a sad state of affairs it has become

Just sold for £850 to a chap from Tranent.

Heart renching not only to loose £250 in a couple of weeks but also to loose such a lovely car

Thanks all for the help though, much appreciated :)

P.s the chap did not want a couple of things for some bizare reason  so i am selling these as no use to me

Spare wheel heavily used £10, jack good condition £10, spare dash matt £5, brand new v8 water pump £25 so if anybody is interested let us know.

Sounds like its going to be an engine donor or banger then :(

PM's replied to, thanks.

Yeah, either end up being used for banger racing or as a donor car as the chap said he had two other P6's and couple other classics, maybe even a dealer wanting to make quick buck as the car looked very presentable and ran perfect, either way i hated driving it out the drivewayas it made me want to keep it

Well good luck with everything....... Keep in touch eh? You might want another sometime

J

Yes i will keep in touch, if only i had found this site before buying the example i had, i truly believe i would have been better equiped to notice any faults but there you go, that's life and i probably won't learn from my mistakes

Thanks all for the help though, much appreciated!

On the note of spare parts, i still have the Spare wheel, jack and dash matt, £15 secures the lot if anybody is interested.

Hi all

This is back on carandclassic.com. I went to see this last week. I had read all of CCCP-1985's messages so knew roughly what to expect.

The new owner had it advertised at £900 - a quick turnover, although he was fairly honest about getting it (I didn't let on I knew the back story). He said he bought it for the engine but now didn't want it. He said he had had lost of classics previously and seemed OK,

It was raining heavily when I went to see it and the car was VERY wet inside. There were also holes in the back floor corners next to the inners sills. Paint job was OK (repainted) and the car seemed to drive alright (kick down etc). I decided not to buy it as I already have a 2000TC in better condition.

Now.............................he has changed the price to £2295 on carandclassic!

Hi

Not sure where it's on sale? It's listed as sold on Carandclassic.com (advert was about 22nd May).

Would be interested to know final price!

Simon

It's going to be great to see another P6 in Northampton :))

If you fancy taking her out for a spin and popping round (quite close to J15) - then feel free to drop me a PM.

Cheers,
Bri.
