1975 Rover P6 3500 V8 Auto - 37K Miles!

Hi all,

Up for sale is my V8. Sadly, push has come to shove as I cannot justify having this as well as my 3500S, so it's got to go! It was due to be sold to a good family friend (and long-time P6 enthusiast!) of mine, but unfortunately circumstances have meant that the deal couldn't go through, so I'd rather offer it for sale here first rather than eBay.

The car has only covered 37000 miles from new, most of which were done within the first few years, and there are MOTs back to 1978 which can verify this. However, the car has always been used, and looking at the old tests there doesn't appear to be any time in its life that it has been laid up.
The car is a nicely spec'd model, with power steering and etched Sundym Glass all round. Whilst there have been small areas of welding in the past, the MOT tester commented on how solid it was underneath, which I always take to be a bonus!

I have recently spent £450 having the fuel lines replaced and the tank and carbs properly cleaned out, along with its MOT. The exterior of the car isn't in bad shape, although to bring it up to the standard that it deserves, it really could do with a respray as sections of it appear to have been blown in without a great amount of care.. There are a couple of small 'garage' dents around the car, that I have been assured will pull out, but I will very happily include all the spare panels required to make it good again. (I'm also aware of the burdensome nature of spare parts that seem to come with most P6s, so feel free to leave the panels if you'd wish!)

The interior is quite stunning, and the closest thing to a time-warp that I've ever experienced. The box pleat seats are in perfect condition - another P6 aficionado friend of mine got quite excited at how the box pleat itself isn't crushed! Even without the MOTs, the interior alone could back up the remarkably low mileage that the car's done.

It drives wonderfully; as smooth and powerful as an auto V8 should, and I would have no hesitation in jumping in it and driving any distance.
I'm looking for £3250, but am of course open to any sensible offer. Please get in touch for more photos and any other questions you may have!

Cheers,
Sam
