Thank you all for the feedback.
If its any interest, I still keep tabs on Scimitars and, they too, seem to be picking up in price.
At one time, you could pick up a very reasonable 6A for around a £1000, infact two out of the three i owned were bought for under four figures.
Lately, as tidy as they seem, some are getting into the £3000 territory when, perhaps, a year ago they would have been more like £1800.
Bear in mind that is the "less popular" 6/6A and not the coveted 5/5A.
Id agree that, perhaps, with interest rates on the floor and people more acutely aware than ever that life really is too short, they are now throwing their money into classics as a sounder and more enjoyable investment.
In terms of the Scimitars, the top ones were making very good money indeed and, maybe, as those become more scarce, the good ones are being looked at and bought to improve.
I reckon the P6 is certainly going down the same road which is a bit of a double edged sword as, for people like me, it will be harder to find a good car within my budget and for the owner/seller it will see the value of what they have rocket.
As soon as mine goes, i can start looking around. The Scimitar used to tick 90% of the boxes, the V8 ticks all of them IMHO.
