2000TC Brake Master Cylinder removal

Coming home with a brand new MOT on the passenger seat last week, I encountered traffic holdup on the Runcorn bridge near to where I live. Suddenly traffic bunches up and I was forced into an emergency stop.It stopped as it should :D . But only later did I realise I was losing my brakes. By the time I got home I had none.
No brake fluid was lost and no obvious leaks. A little while later some pressure was restored, though. After discussions with older and wiser heads they have suggested I have turned a seal in the Brake Master and needs renewing. Whilst the Manual tells me the procedure to get the master cylinder out, I have the question. How do I get at the bottom nut to get it out? Does anyone have a nice way of doing this?

A 3/8 drive socket on an extension bar usually does the trick for me, guided by the force

Thanks for that Grim. I shall try it on Monday as I am off to a show tomorrow. I take it that it is a bundle of laughs putting that nut back on again. Time is on my side

To get the bottom nut back on I put the tiniest dab of superglue on to stick the nut to the washer (line it up nicely) and then another tiny spot of glue to hold the whole lot to the socket. Gives it enough to all stay in one piece until you can get the thread started and when you finally tighten the superglue will let go and it will tighten as normal.
