Hi Guys - I have found conflicting advice on this issue, but can I put 2000TC Rostyles on my 3500? I've heard they will fit, but also that they will not as there is some confilct with the front steering. Does anyone know for sure, for sure? Both mine are NADA cars if that matters.

Thanks for all the great advice

Hi there,
I doubt very much that there is any difference between 2000tc rostyles and those fitted to the V8, however I may be wrong. E-mail john Glinn his V8 has 14" rostyles he should be able to tell you more
Cheers

Hello George,
thanks for your personal e-mail, I hope you don't mind me replying to it here!
The 2000 Rostyles will fit on 3500 studs (and vice versa, of course) the only difference being ½" in rim width. The 2000 type are 5J and the 3500 5½J. What I don't know for sure is where the extra half inch is inserted, i.e on the outside, inside or equi-distant. However, no problem with fouling of the wheel arches or suspension components but what I had heard, and have mentioned on this site some time ago was the tale (may be allagorical!) of a P6 owner who had P5(B) Rostyles fitted and when he crashed and made an insurance claim the company refused to pay out as they discovered the "wrong" wheel on the car when inspected by a loss-adjuster.
I think the important point to make is TELL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY whatever you do and, in my opinion, you won't fall foul of the insurance companies if you fit 3500 Rostyles to a 2000 model but I wouldn't recommend fitting 2000 wheels to a 3500 model!
Hope this helps.
Regards, John.

Thanks for the help and sorry to be slow on the uptake here, but when you say you wouldn't reccommend 2000 wheels on a 3500, why not? the tyre size? That's what I was looking to do, as I have a set of 2000 rosyles and I like the way they look. Thanks for any additional help.

HI There Maryland P6
First thanks to John for the rim width info, ok you will have no problems fitting 185 tyres to a 5" rim, if however you were thinking of upping the size of your tyres to say a 195 you would need to run the 5 1/2" rim
Cheers

Ahhh, I see. I was approaching it more from an asthetic rather than performance standpoint, but I see what you mean. Maybe I'll continue my search for some Jensen Rostyles, or maybe save the cash and stick with stock. Thanks again for the help.
