Just acquired a P6 2200TC, when I picked up the car the seller told me that the carbon brushes in the starter motor seemed to be worn as the car did need few attempts to get the starter to engage even on full battery.
After small search I learned that it could be "quite a task" to get the starter motor out of the car...... that is an understatement in my opinion . I finally managed to wrestle it out of the car but man how the top bolt was slow to get out...... After a days wrenching, dismantling, part sourcing and assembling (including modification to be able to get a socket on the top bolt) I have a starter motor that engages first time. Happy times.
