Hi All

Does anyone have a fuel tank sender unit for a 3500s I have tried the normal suppliers and no one has got one.
Has anyone got one tucked away in a shed that they are willing to sell.

Thanks
Dave

Senders can be repaired.

Has you had yours out? Sometimes the float doesnt float and sometimes the are rusts up a bit. Both can be sorted.

Hi Colin
I don't know if mine can be repaired as I haven't had the car long and I don't know how long the fuel gauge has not worked it would be
ideal if I could get a replacement that was working and then I could repair mine at my leisure.

Cheers

Worth taking it out and operating the arm a few times.

If it has been off road i would say it is stuck in the empty position.

Good idea to have a spare to fit. Beawarw that the tank has more fuel that you think when draining.

Have you tested that its not the gauge at fault?
Earth the wire that goes to the sender with ign on and see if it goes up to full,if it does its working ok!

I've tried earthing the connection and the gauge works fine, the car was parked up for several years with an empty tank so
I am guessing that the float is stuck but as it's never worked it would be handy to have a spare sender that I could put in.

All that proves is that the guage is working.....

Exactly!
If it isnt working the sender maybe ok!
As he has now tested it that way and it is working, anyone with the fault will know what to test to see whats what!
My S1's didnt work for the same reason, then when I filled it up, it went up to 1/4 full,so I now have to remove it and clean it when the fuel is low and I can get round to it!
