"3500" side badge....???

Salutations again all,

As you may recall from my "Blue Switches" thread I have obtained another P6 as an organ donor vehicle for Winston. I am harvesting the parts to use on a "swap good for better" basis and using as and when needed.

The blue switches appear to be rare-ish and I have now noticed this:

It appears to be an "enamelled" or "plasticised" 3500 side badge in pristine nick.

I have about a dozen or so 3500 badges ranging from the early embossed type with the counter-sunk lettering all the way through to the flat print type. I have never seen one like this with the clear coat finish. It is absolutely as new with crisp black lettering.

I have included pics of the other side to show the more expected condition and style of badge.

Am I clutching at my bed clothes prematurely or is this to something not seen so often :?: :?: :?:

RT.

Whether a rare experimental trim piece, or a genuine fluke, I suspect there may be a fair bit of interest in these from the avid collectors of unusual accessories. I myself hunted down a set of 1971-only model year '2000' script badges for my car....

Mine have all discoloured to some extent, probably due to the harsh Australian sunlight that we get. The black numbering is still clear, but you can easily see that it is not a deep dark black anymore.

Same with mine, especially those on the boot where the text has almost disappeared.
