Update on this blue car...
Today I finally got around to removing all 4 wings and sills to get a proper look at the base unit and completely failed to find any terminal corrosion! The bonnet slam panel has had it,but the rest of the shell is one of the soundest I've seen on a non-runner. One of the rear jacking point surrounds is a mess and the driver's footwell has a hole, but the rest just needs a few small repairs that I can see. I reckon the whole lot could be sorted in a couple of weekends.
Which is a bit of a problem.
I'd planned to remove a few more good bits then weigh it in for scrap, but now what am I going to do?
I'll post some photos tomorrow so you can see my dilemma.
There's no way I can keep it as yet another project. There's nothing left of the interior worth having. The engine is knackered - I took the cylinder head off for a look, 2 valves were burnt out which must have been why it was laid up all those years ago.
So if anyone has a rusty 4cyl project that they're struggling with and could use an easily restorable base unit, please get in touch. I wouldn't mind recouping the 150 pounds I paid for it.
It's a 2000SC. Tax exempt, no V5 so you'd need to apply for one and pay £25 to the DVLA.
On Anglesey, North Wales.
Just think of the months of welding you could save.
BTW, I heard that the Wolseley I mentioned above was saved.
