9 ROSTYLE WHEELS FOR SALE ON EBAY!

The vendor has lots of interesting things listed, but collection only, and he lives in the part of England that is shown only on my maps as "Here be dragons" Why is all the good stuff so far away?

John.

You could have them picked up by a courier, but that said I'd want to see them first if I was buying. I guess you have to be prepared to travel for rarer items.

Too right, and to check that they are straight as well!
I did ask a simple question re their size but so far no answer.

Thanks for the link, I reckon I could use most of that stuff he has - Norwich is only about 3 hours drive from me.

Hi Pilkie,

Would not they all be 14" X 5.5"? Visually none are the 15" version as fitted to the P5B and it was my understanding that there was only one P6 version or are there two?

Hi, if he doesn't know the difference between alloy and steel, will he know how to measure
the wheel? Because a lot of people don't.

hi sydneyroverP6B,
there are 5J and 5 and a 1/2J for the 4 pot and for the V8

ian

p.s. for anybody that wants them they are 14 x 5J, so for the 4 pots

Out of interest, how can you visually tell they are 5J? Or is it just the eye of experience being able to tell the difference between half an inch!!

Michael

my wife can tell if there's a half inch difference, i've spent years getting her to understand size in inches she's looked at these wheels and said there deffinatly 10 inches wide :D :D :D

Reckon Ian knows who's selling them
Funny how they have achieved legendry status , used to see them all over the place . now even shite ones seem to command top money . Then you would need to re chrome them which is suppose to be hard because of the rust traps between rim and center . To bring them up to the standard that would suit the rest of the car you would be looking at another 1500 quid for tires , chrome , center caps , wheel nuts , painting the centers , balancing etc . For the moment i'll convince myself the "S" hub caps are better  And aspire to a fully re chromed /refurbed set of rostyles in the future .

given the price of the rostyles i must say i do like the original style hubcaps on either the v8 or 4 cyl cars, they only seem to look rough if there not kept clean

Just to add a note, these wheels have been sitting around in a garage for eons, I just need them out of the way now. I have so many odds and ends it's becoming ridiculous! I don't particularly like the rostyle wheels and have Minilites fitted which I think look a little better. Plus chrome wheels are a bugger to keep clean and tidy!!
