A New High for Winguards?

I'm quite sure that chinese copies have been made, and from what I've read they barely last a year.

To echo what Pilkie said on facebook, the real deal are good quality that actually last, and as a result the demand is there, so the prices are high. You're better off with a slightly scruffy pair.

Clearly someone has more money than sense. No wonder us mere mortals can't get these sort of parts for a reasonable price

It should be more than possible to get a quality rechrome done for less than that!
I said on FB.
"As these boxed new items get harder to find and demand is there they are bound to go up. Have you seen the dire quality of the crap chinese trash mirrors out there.
Better off with a slightly ruff original."

Well I'm still looking. Don't have to be perfect. Wingards or Wingard/Zanettis are fine. I'd just like to be able to pull on to motorways safely.

Actually with the right contacts in China its perfectly possible to specify higher quality it just that many of the businesses there assume you went to them for ultimate cheapness. Although the chroming is good on a Wingard, they are only mazak on the base and stem, not brass or suchlike and they do pit over time.

In the future if regulations kill off chroming in the EU, it might be your only option.

I have a mate sends his stuff to a chroming company in the USA.
Great quality and price, even with shipping!
