hi all,
pictures will follow next week when back at work. i am going to start on another project. just aquired a 1973 / 4 'M' plate 3500 auto with factory fitted air-con. no pas, white, ebony cloth seats and a moto lita wheel that will be going on ebay, will fit my other rover wooden wheel. a little bit about the car, another forum member bought the car for the air-con, has kept the doors and boot and bonnet as spares, also the front seats, so i am after a pair of front seats in ebony box pleat cloth, if any body has a good pair. back to the car, i have bought a range rover 3.9 efi engine and gearbox to fit in it. i have 90 % of the air-con bits to re-fit back in, short of the heater box, a small bracket and the vents under the heater box, the latter i can make from metal, the other two i am in the process of sourcing from the states. found the heater box, just short of the bracket that holds the intermediate pulley on. car has been off the road for over 20 years, but is in good condition, had one side sill welded and one of the mounts in the boot side, everything else is good. looking at the receipts with the car, it was either and endless money pit or i think the guy who owned it was very finicky, from 1979 - 1991 it has had over £10,000 pounds spent on it, over a three year period it was in at least once a month, sometimes twice. servicing and other things, but he would take it in and say there's a rattle here and a squeek there. it is a great read on the receipts to see what has been spent.
