A splendid day at Ley Hill Common

A splendid day at Ley Hill Common was had by all who attended the classic car show there last Sunday 14 August.

The final few miles of the drive from the Case is Altered took us along narrow twisty lanes through some of those most beautiful of Buckinghamshire villages and when we arrived at Ley Hill we were given a big welcome by the organisers who we must thank for putting on such a superb and well organised event. Between 100 and 200 classic cars of all vintages attended ths excellent Classic car event.

The cricket club bar was open with reasonably priced beer. A barbeque supplied wonderful home made beef burgers and absolutely delicious sausages from the Geff Martin of Chesham. But to top it all the sun shone brightly.

Here are some photos of our P6s at the show.

Best Wishes

Great pics as usual 8)
Wanted to make this but had to be elsewhere. Not all bad though, I was able to pop in to the SD1 National for a flying visit :D
Looks like you had a good day for it

Thanks Grim. Sorry you could not make it. Below are some photos of a selection of other classic cars, as well as a few more shots of one or two of our P6s, that were at Classics on the Common at Ley Hill on Sunday. Quite a varied and wonderful selection of cars:

Best wishes

Great pics Tony or should I say David Bailey :D See you at the case is altered in September.

Thanks for the pics Tony, looks like a great event. Can anyone tell me more about the green P6 estate in the P6 group of photos?

Thanks Tony. I missed those posts in June as I was on holiday. I do like that car though.

Unfortunately I doubt I'll make it to one of your gatherings - it's a bit of a trek from Nottingham on a Tuesday evening.

Can anyone tell me more about the green P6 estate in the P6 group of photos?

I Know it belongs to Aaron don't think he is on the forum will ask him to sign up when I next see him but as far as I know it has an SD1 EFI engine and gearbox and an on going project.

I'm not sure about the engine detail beyond it being EFi, but the gearbox is not SD1 but ZF HP22 four speed. There are all sorts of interesting tweaks on it including most of Alan's brakes and suspension mods plus bespoke aluminium radiator. Pretty close to the intended final spec of Lucky apart from the engine.
