Today I started to strip my first P6 as the base unit is just to far gone. Decided I would strip her completely and salvage/save as much as I can. Today I removed all the wings, the seats, roof lining, front air scoop, front scuttle panel, front bumper, seat belts and all door post trims.
Tomorrow I am hoping to remove all the doors, the dash board, the boot and rear vallance. I want to remove the front and rear windows but want to try and save the seals too (if that is possible) aswell as the roof. Having never removed the windows or roof I am looking for advice on how to do it. I have removed all the screws I can see that hold the roof on but the bonding/sealent is holding it tight. Any one done this and willing to offer advice. Also should I have removed the chrome trim on the front door posts/rain gutters?
I will be removing the engine next (With the front vallance removed it should be easy to get it out in one lump) and then the running gear (as with all the other bits removed including engine I will roll the car over on its side so making it easier to work on)
