Affordable P6...

Hello to you all...

When you have an affinity with a certain car they always stick in your mind don't they? No matter what you own you will always be thinking of 'that' car!

With me it's the P6, I think I've got it bad as I always find myself looking at those with a view to buying another one day!!!

My first P6 was an Almond 2000TC (KMH 909K where are you?!) that I bought about 12 years ago for £350...!!! It wasn't great but it was a gem and cruising up the Kings Road in London to collect my lady companion (now my wife!) from work was a dream as a chap in his early 20's...!!!

Then I purchased a beautiful Tobacco 3500 (JPM 458N where are you?!) that was purchased about 6 years ago for £1600...!!! I loved that car and the lure of a Mk1 Granada forced me to sell it and I kick myself for that HUGELY...!

Anyhow, what I'm trying to get at here is that when I purchased my P6's they were ridiculously cheap for what they were!

Are there still bargains like this to be had out there? From what I've seen I'm thinking not...!!!

I'd dearly love an affordable 2000 again but they do seem to be few and far between these days... If an affordable 3500 came along I'd trip over my own feet to nab it...!!!

So, are there good value P6's still hanging around out there ready to be nabbed? I do hope so as it'd be a shame it they got priced out of the 'attainable' market as it were...

A potential buyer will certainly find affordable Rovers on the market within Australia. You may need to drive a long way to inspect, or you could wait till one crops up some what closer, but either way, there are bargains to be had. Unless the car has been parked on a beach or in a river, rust will not be a problem, pretty much anywhere.

thats ditto for NZ when it comes to buying an affordable classic down here .
My mind boggles at the prices run of the mill nasties get compared to a P6 .
Ford Anglia' worth more than a P6 ? You've got to be joking .
They were a shitter back in the day . And they remain a shitter in 2015 , albeit with a better paint job .
The P6 was a masterpiece of over engineering and affordable motoring in the 70's .
And still is in 2015 even with a shitty paint job . [ leave your Almond racist comments here ......... ]

Get one bought, you only live once,

I really don't know why I didn't buy one years ago.

Do it

If you factor in inflation over the last 12 and 6 years, your budget will have risen a bit in the meantime too, which might help to justify any purchase :D
