Alloy wheel supplier??

To all forum readers!

A word of caution. If anyone is after alloy-wheels, steer clear of: http://www.wheel-base.co.uk. Why, I have contacted them 3 times online, and have yet to receive an answer!

The first time was to enquire whether they could supply 14" Rostyles, or similar!

The second & third times, to ask whether they were going to reply! Nothing!! Not even an acknowledgement!!

Don't say you haven't been warned....!!

Looking at their site I reckon they're still trying to find out what you were on about before replying

To Grimv8,

You may well be right, Grim but I did fill in all the car's details, make/model/year/cc etc, so gave them plenty of information. Told them that I were after 14" (5 1/2) Rostyle chrome/alloy wheels or similar! In fact, anything 14"!

But as yet, no reply!

My first enquiry was online on 01/03/10. The second reminder on 05/03/10. And the last on 11/03/10. So they have had plenty of time to respond! How much time do they need.....!

I've been having a similar problem with an online Glasses shop, sent them emails, filled in the online enquiry form, but no answers, in the end I had to phone them, and eventually managed to talk to somebody.

My job is websites and we have several large online store sites, and I find that people that shop online want to deal online, they don't want to have to ring up, if you advertise email addresses and have online forms, you should respond at least within 24 hours. Many systems auto-respond to at least say "we've got your enquiry and will respond within X period of time" It's just basic customer service, which is sadly lacking these days.

Hi,

I fully understand the on-line thing but it would have taken less time to call them and ask if they have any problems with the inquiry than it did to post on here. Their on-line system probably works very well for “modern” stuff but when you ask about a older car you know fine well you’re asking something out of the ordinary and there is a distinct possibility they need additional help from you to understand what you’re asking.

E-mail, Forums etc… are, in my opinion anyway, sometimes more of a barrier to good communication than they are a help.

I agree, but, if you offer people that method of communication, then you need to answer it, it wouldn't take a minute to send a reply asking for further information, or just stating they have nothing suitable. Alternatively, don't list an email address etc, just have the phone number, then people know they need to ring. Remember you're the customer, they should be chasing your business, especially in this climate.

I like replying to queries via email :) It's straight to the point and no option of waffle to stop you working
Think they'd have replied and said 'We no understand' or something at least

To all who responded.

I have a confesion to make. After submitting my first online enquiry, I did receive a message stating that my enquiry has been received, and that they will be in touch "within 24 hours"! That was 2 1/2 weeks ago, I should have heard by now! Don't you think!

Sorry for my lapse in memory.

I have to agree with "Webmaster", I am the customer, it's up to them to chase me up not the other way round! If they don't want my business, they only have to say so!!
When I place an order or enquiry online, I expect good customer service, but as webmaster say's, that is lacking these days! More's the pity..!
