I fitted an inline switch to my boot light to avoid it being on for long periods like that. (Converting it to an LED would have worked, but I happened to have a spare switch handy.)

If I was doing a gearbox I'd have disconnected the battery anyway.....

Looks like an XJS on the ramp in front of the Rover so it seems they like an old 'un.

Yes but I can find the switch by feel in the dark if I've forgotten to turn it back on.
