Spotted this beauty at the Kop Hillclimb event this weekend, does it belong to anyone on here? It was a minter with an unfeasibly clean engine bay..

This car was a real beauty.. Has been subject to a no expense spared resto by the look of it.

Now thats inspiring stuff.

That is exactly how I would love mine to look. What a credit to the owner.

Lovely.

O M G !! that engine bay is to die for! It certainly is an inspiration. Maybe I should do same to mine.

This P6 belongs to one of our members and will be displayed on our Club stand at the NEC in November along with 5 other stunning examples (including my own P6).
ANK 515K has had a full nut and bolt restoration with no expense spared.
If you are visiting the NEC this year please come along and see us in Hall 7 - Stand No. 7C26.

It was at Elsecar back in August

IIRC it got second prize for best 3500/S, although I could be wrong about that.

Did look very nice

Richard

That car clearly does not get used nearly enough to be that clean

Does look good though 8)

If that car only got second then I would love to see what scooped 1st!!!!

It must take a lot of hard graft and care to keep her looking so good.

The best 3500/S and best in show were both won by the organiser's car.

Not at all, I'm not a member of that club and I didn't go to the show.

ANK is a nice car though. Clean engines bays are both a blessing and a curse - they're easy to wipe clean, but you need to do it every week to stay on top if it.

To avoid any suspicion I always do self judging at any of our shows and is voted by the public, not Club Officials.
For those of you who haven't seen my P6 as yet there are a couple of photographs from our National Show at Elsecar Heritage Centre.
I have owned my P6 since April this year and have won 6 Concours and 1st prize awards and have all been voted by different people (not myself).
Prior to my ownership the P6 has spent the last 6 years in a car cocoon.
There is now only 29,000 miles from new and is all original apart from the paintwork which was done in 2001 when it was brought back to the UK from Jersey.
Members of the P6 Rover Owners Club will have read about my P6 in the P6 News magazine and will be on our Club stand at the NEC in November.
If you are going to the NEC please come and say hello and I will show you my P6 of which I am very proud to own.
Below are a couple of photographs for you to druell over !
And yes I know the steering wheel should have been straightened up, but I'll blame my other half for that one !
All the photographs from the National Show with many others can be viewed at www.p6roc.com

Deborrah, that looks absolutely georgeous! I trust it drives as well as it looks and that you are enjoying it?

Chris

Yes Chris, very much so.
The title in P6 News when I first bought the P6 was 'The best things come to those who wait', and it was well worth the wait. I had butterflies when I was going to view it and then it followed me back home.
The interior is Toledo Red and I suprisingly managed to buy a roll of the original from the company (Pickerings in Bradford) who made my rear headrests for me. One of their customers had bought a huge amount of stock when Rover were clearing out. The chance of dropping on this was very lucky so I snapped it up. At least if anything does get marked I can have it repaired.
The Webmaster (Richard Taylor) presented me with the Rover Concours Award at Saltaire on 18th September with the Yorkshire Rover Club.
Hope to see you at the NEC, we are really looking forward to the show.
Deborah

Yes I can confirm that Deborah's car was at Saltaire (didn't arrive on a trailer either  ) and did indeed win the concours award. It is very nice, and I do love a red leather interior.

Going back to ANK, I'm always in 2 minds over gloss black P6 engine bays. They didn't leave the factory that way, and in theory should be marked down by a concours judge. They do however look fantastic and are probably easier to clean.

Deborah

Your car too looks absolutely fabulous. Congrats.

I love looking at cars such as yours and ANK as they povide me with the inspiration to keep my old girl and spend time and money on her.

Admittedly my car will never be concours and it is not my aim either. But whereas I do want to keep her as original as poss that gloss engine bay on ANK is very tempting.

To me the P6 is a thing of beauty, still grossly underrated in the classic world, and when you see such cars it only underlines that.

Could almost tempt me to rejoin the Owners club!!

Ron

Hi Ron,
Thank you for your comments, I love my P6 and wouldn't swap it for anything.
My belated birthday present last week was a new electrical relay fitted, the radio wiring up properly and a new lead for the new electronic fuel pump that we are fitting. This beats shoes and handbags any day and is much more practical.
It only took me 12 years of being involved with the P6ROC before I found my P6 and we saw a few rust buckets along the way.

You do not have to own a concours car or even own a P6 to be a member of the P6 Rover Owners Club and you are very welcome to re-join at any time.
Regards Deborah
