Are all V8 steering idlers the same?

My steering idler needs to be replaced, I have a spare of a eggcrate grille V8 (guessing its an Australian market Series II), did V8 steering idlers stay the same through the P6b model run or are there variants?

Just that I'm about to ship my spare one interstate and I don't want to get it back rebuilt and find out that it won't fit.

Thanks

Hi Geoff,

You'll see some photos of the correct steering idler for your Rover on page 19 of 'My Rover' thread, viewtopic.php?f=21&t=9726&start=270

I have seen some steering idlers where the design of the top section is different. As there is no difference in the idlers for the V8 models, series 1 or 2, manual or auto, the ones that I have seen must I imagine have been on the 4 cylinder models.

There are two tops for the 4 cyl cars that I have seen, one with a round top and the other hexagonal. There is also a very early undamped idler that had included a shock absorber behind the engine, but that would be rare indeed.
