Are there any aftermarket overdrives for a BW 65/66?

Howdy,
Just curious if there ever was/is an overdrive option for the v8 BW like the MG's had? I'm running 3.58 rear and that's the tallest ratio I can get for my diff.

Hi, Are you allowed to change the axle? If so, try the 3.08 Salisbury fitted to V6 Capris.

After the work and $$ I've spent on the rear axle it's staying lol. Not a huge deal - car is a cruiser but at 3.58 it'll be a NOISY cruiser!

Where did you get a 3.58 gearset from? rover's smaller diff is 3.54. I asked the same question years ago and was told there was someone on here that had married an overdrive unit to a bw35 for a p5. I never followed it up because the zf box came along.

He's using a ford axle.

Hi, The Op has got his engine and gearbox in a Ford Cortina mk2, hence my question about a Capri axle. Although I seem to remember since that The Lotus Elan had a Ford based diff with a 3.2 CWP set. They would be rocking horse stuff though, mists of time and all that.

The remote overdrive unit in the P5b was by a Rover P5 club forum member, I did email him a couple of times because I was thinking about doing the same but it came to nothing sadly (me not him) because of other projects.

Fitting in the Cortina may be problematic due to size and location. The Laycock 'D' type is smaller but the larger 'LH' is more suited to the larger engines.
