Auto box compatability

Hi all . Sorry not been around for a while . I got myself involved on the committy of our local club which has taken up a fair amount of time.
Anyway enough waffle. I have been asked if a Borg Warner 65? Will fit where a 35? Was installed originally. They say they know one is rod & the other cable but that aside is there any reason it would not fit?
I think I have the model numbers right but have not had much to do with auto boxes so any advice appreciated.

Thanks Mark

They will interchange, you just need to fit a bracket on the underside of the transmission tunnel to fit the selector cable, which has to be used with the 65, and use the 65 gearbox cooler pipes. The only other possible problem is if you have the long kickdown cable on your 35, then you will need the kickdown bracket that goes on the back of the head so you can use the short cable on the 65. All the rest just bolts straight in.
If you need the kickdown bracket I have one.

PS, I'm assuming that the bellhousing is with the 65 box, as they are different. Later converters are the same, early 35 converters won't fit a 65 though AFAIK.

Thanks for the quick response Harvey . I knew you would be the man who would know
Many thanks I will pass that on
Cheers Mark
