am i alone in really fancying the avacado 3500 on ebay?
its the colour i like!
have i a monopoly on bad taste or is it really not a bad colour?
i am imagining it with chrome rostyles mind.
i really must get some better dreams!
jules

whats the link? I like avacado too ----- black roof and sills, lowered, mango interior and lairy carpets --- maybe a small block chevy too!! We can dream.

Ive clocked it!! Cannot really see it tucked up i garage like that. Only down road to me ... states ambla seats, but has that horrible brushed velevt crap!!

Seems alright, would have to look, been stood an age. Not a bit of me as trim is no good, otherwise I would have gone over today with pound notes.

lucky man living close!
you're right anout the black cills etc
you're right about the work too.
but i could park it in my drive and just look at it for a while until its restoration turn comes around.
i have to have a re-spray on a series 1 and avacado just wouldn't look right would it?
its corsica blue which is a no-no and i'm tempted by a metallic blue.
descisions!

If you like it, buy it!! Best to have a look first. It has been standing. Imagine the cost of recon calipers all round, welding to the cills, a set of carpets, paintwork, new rubbers all round and on and on and on.

I spent well over £7k on my car, which had stood since 1986. Ok I had a lot of other things done like a TP engine, custom manifolds/exhaust, custom springs/shock and alloys, but bar that, all other stuff done was standard P6 resto territary.

If it were a case of dust off, run for an MOT and sell for £2K, then why has he not done it!!

Why not buy a decent Series 2 "S", solid but needing paint, with a good set of leather trim and a good engine and box and have it painted avacado!! Imagine on your drive a rock solid, rot free base united car, with an excellent set of boxpleat leather and a fresh coat of avacado!!

I would have to say, done right, with the right tweaks (black sills and black vinyl roof), lowered slightly with a set of Rostyles or Minilites and a really good set of trim (black boxpleat leather and custom dark olive carpets) --- now were talking ---- why not go a bit further and throw the old boris of a V8 away and put in a low mileage 1990's unleaded 3.9 Range Rover lump in it :D :That car would drive better than any other P6 you have ever had and stand out well and truely from the croud!! Go :D

I love Avacado ---- what about Saffron for the NZ market, that is a blinding colour on a P6 too. Blue, white, red etc all too boring. Make a statement. Vivid bright colours suit the car to complememnt its curves and bright 1970's colours are so in keeping.

oh god!
you're suggestions are turning me on!
hmm, perhaps that sounds a bit bad!
i did mean to win the euro millions lottery on saturday and start my own p6 resto company
just for personal satisfaction!
oh god ! there i go again!

oh yes!
i have to come back to reality as i have a better car than that awaiting paint but it was richlieu (excuse spelling) red which is also a nice colour.
i have more than enough cellulose red paint to spray it too!
its nhs wheelchair red mind!
so it should push easy!
ha!
painting later though, i've a welding lesson to master this week!
i've also got a dumper of an 's' in paprika which i like!
may have to sell it on though as a project but am afraid it'll get broken.
its also got a webasto, which is also duff as well.
but it will live again!

It's a really awful listing - the guy clearly doesn't know much about the condition of the car. The rebuild of the engine etc. could have been 20 years ago - I'd unfortunately say it's scrap value and hope for the best.

its suprising what difference the colour makes!
even on modern cars!
i presume a red ferrari is worth more than another in a different colour.
