Axle stand locations

I hope I have chosen the correct place for this topic.

Anyway.... having been under my car I am a little mystified as to the best and safest locations to place my axle stands :?:

I want to lift both the front and the rear so that I can work under the entire length of the car and this is why I am asking you guys.

Please advise me as to where I should place my axle stands so that I do not damage the car :)

Thanks in anticipation :D

It depends on what you intend to do while it's in the air, but you may find it better to support it on ramps under the wheels,
stands under the front can be a bit awkward if you don't use the jacking points, (not a good idea) so you end up trying to support under the inner end of the lower arm or tie bar. At the rear there's the pinion crossmember on the V8/2200, or the de dion elbows close to the ring of bolts that fix them to the tube itself.

What do you intend doing?

My intended work is to give the under body a clean and then to rust proof it.

I am thinking of using anti-rust paint and then chassis paint to tidy up the look of the mechanical parts and to use something like Waxoyl Black or the Dinitrol equivalent on the bodywork. Basically I want to preserve and lengthen the life of the car as much as possible :)

In that case I'd support the front on ramps under the wheels and just use stands under the rear.
