bac needles

hi all I read in the pc magazine that I should be running bac needles in my hif6 carbs I cant seem to find any at a reasonable price. Don't want to pay out 24 quid plus postage plus vat to find they make no difference.

got bored this afternoon and took the ones out that were in the carbs to see what they are. I have BBC ones in at the min. I have gone onto http://www.mintylamb.co.uk/suneedle/ and there seems to be negligible difference in the two.
Below is the graph the lighter line is the bac needle that was recommended.



if anyone in the know can tell me if this will cause the carbs to run slightly lean but have a high hydrocarbon reading of shed any light as to the difference between them I would be grateful

They're near identical. As a ballpark they'll be about right as would bac. Only way to get it exact is a rolling road.

If lean at idle check for air leaks. If rich when running on throttle try advancing the timing.
