The car was purchased recently after being stored since 1996. It is in perfect working condition and the interior is particularily well preserved. However, the tin worm did not spare this one either, hence all affected areas are being addressed currently:

The car will be back on the road in June for some summer cruising. And since there certainly will be a next winter, it is going to get painted then.

Hello Junkman,

it is always a positive outcome when a Rover receives a new lease of life... :D Are you going to retain the original colour or will you opt for a change. If the latter, do you have one in mind?

Ron.

The car left the factory in Mexico Brown and it still has the paint code sticker. I think after 35 years, the car has gotten used to it, so I will not upset her by making sudden changes. Besides, I actually quite like the colour.

I had this P6 in Mexico Brown for 12 years (& resprayed it that colour):

I quite like it, especially when clean & shiney - which mine never was!

Hello,
Of late I'm begining to think that the P6 looks more futuristic and cutting edge with the standard wheel trims, as opposed to the 'S' trims,(I always used to swap the standard trims over to 'S' ones) even better with the correct aspect ratio tyres. My favourite colour is Tobacco, but that Mexico look's stunning!

My hat's off to you for using it everyday. Just watch out in those car parks

Hey, thanks guys!

Well, I will use it for going forth and back to work, where we have a company parking place, so no fear of damage. I will also use it for my weekend trips and such stuff. For shopping and the city I have my urban assault vehicle, so the P6 will not get a lot of city driving/parking. And even if, as long as the outer cladding isn't restored yet, I'm not too picky about the odd shunt.

Me too, don't think I would notice. Well until she is resprayed then I will be, which is kind of stopping me from getting it done. (excluding the cost)

Oh, you are so right.

As soon as it is resprayed, I wouldn't want to drive or park the car anymore. I would like to keep it in a climatized vault. It will have lost all its character, historic dents, scratches and battle scars, it would look sterile, have traded off it's soul, it would spoil all the originality and it just all feels totally wrong. Not even mentioning the thousander it will cost...
