BMW Drivers....

"The other day I was cruising along as usual coming onto one of my motorways, which was very busy with inferior cars.

First off, I couldn't believe that the volume of traffic DIDN'T slow down for me AT ALL as I came off the slip road! I had to squeeze into a barely big enough gap between two cars in order to get onto my motorway!

The driver of the car behind me did realise his mistake though and honked an apology to me with a long blast of his horn.

Unbelievably, I had to do the same again before I could get to the BMW lane.Anyway, once I was in the BMW lane and posing along at 110 mph enjoying the adulation that the inferior car drivers were giving me, I noticed an inferior car ahead of me which was not only in the BMW lane of my motorway, but was driving at a ridiculous 70 mph!Naturally, I got within a foot or so of his rear bumper and flashed my headlights to remind him he shouldn't be in the BMW lane of my motorway and to get out of my way.

Of course, once he realised it was a BMW behind him, he did just that, but I could hardly believe it when he pulled straight back out behind me!He also tried to keep up with me and when he realised I would out-run him, he put on some blue lights in his front grill and urged me to get onto the hard shoulder so that he could congratulate me on my excellent car.Needless to say, I was eager to oblige and when we had stopped, the man gave me a piece of paper confirming what I already knew - that my car goes fast!

Apparently he wants everyone to know what a superior car I have, so I had to take my drivers licence to a police station to be sent away to have some points put on! (They're not free points either - they're £20 each and I was only allowed 3.) But the man at the police station said that because I drive a BMW, it won't be much longer before I earn the full 12 points, and then I won't even NEED a driving licence, so they will take it off me!

See, now THAT'S the sort of respect you get when you own and drive a BMW!

What is it with BMW drivers ? Does the car come with a free p£nis enlarger as most BMW drivers seem to think their cars make up for their inadequacies ?
BMW 3 series are supposedly more common than Ford Mondeos ,according to new sales statistics

Yep something like that... although BMWs have been deserted firstly for Audis and there now seem to be a growing number of badly driven Saabs on the road...

I got flashed out by a bmw earlier in the p6, something is amiss, usually they enjoy penning people in.

More saabs on the road, thats all due to the appauling dental problems seen in this country, saabs are.only driven by dentists therefore more dentists = more saabs on the road

If you think the people that drive them are bad you should meet some of the people that sell them  Had the pleasure of being in the same social circle as a few of these people at one time. Nothing like other peoples cars and a cheap suit to give a man a sense of false superiority. Needless to say I avoided them when the time came to buy.

Dave

Excellent stuff Chris. May I ask if you penned this yourself?

When I am elected as president, I shall pass a law that means you automatically get 10 points on your license if you purchase a new BMW.

That should slow them down a bit! Of course, other laws would include free petrol for P6's, no road tax and allocating the outside lane of all motorways exclusively for P6 use (well maybe would allow P4s, P5s and SD1s as well). Wait.............. I'm starting to sound like a BMW driver.

Hiya,

Excuse me I take inspection to that remark :)
As a Mercedes Benz driver (did look at a Bavarian Money Waster 5 series) I do not need to speed or pretend I have a superior product - I know I do
After all they invented the car.
You will notice MB drivers, don't box in , we leave a space so our cruise and speed limiter technology allows us to waft along in pure comfort, oh and we always let other MB's out

Cheaper than a Mondeo, loads of room, comfort and at least 42 m.p.g.
Money ( or DEBT) :D doesn't buy happiness

It's not 100% just that certain high pressure people are more likely to own certain sorts of car... I don't think you are an average Mercedes owner!

MB might have invented the IC engine. but of late they seem to have lost the electricity textbook?

That said I va fond memories of a C180K on the autobahn near Berlin

I resemble that remark!!

:D

I do drive an Audi, wouldn't drive a Beemer at any cost. I have only ever been in one once in my life and wasn't that impressed.

Mine's a big old comfortable wafting cruiser which runs on LPG and will go anywhere in any weather 8)

I do have to say though, there are an increasing number of numpties driving the A4 about like they own the road. One of our reps is one of them

Went to a Mercedes dealer in Epsom once to look at a new C180 - young "oik" of a salesman , expensive suit , reeked of aftershave .Couldn't do business with anyone like that

I just resent the suggestion that anything German is good - shame we rebuilt the place after we bombed it IMHO

Intertesting analysis of Beemer drivers, a fortnight ago I was approaching the traffic lights on the A6 outside Lancaster university, it is a 50 limit and only a short section of dual carriageway, a 316 estate pulled along side and began blipping his throttle, the lights changed, you can guess the rest, but when I levelled off at 50 as the road became single lane he came right up my tailpipe, he appeared to be shouting. An old trick I learnt on my first Police Driving course was to maintain speed, drop a cog, touch the brakes with my left foot and boot the throttle at the same time. He did look silly braking as I pulled away again

I must say that I used to think BMWs were often really badly driven, but lately, VW Passats are the cars that I've noticed are very badly driven. I've only ever driven one BMW, a 740i, which belonged to my boss for a short while, and I can sort of see why some BMW drivers behave the way they do. I much prefer Mercs though, as I've driven a Merc since passing my test, even if it is an A-class, and I've noticed that A-class drivers seem to wave to each other. Having also driven a Merc E-class, I think it was more my type of car than the BMW.

I let a VW station wagon driver merge in front of me the other week and he gave me the middle finger. Nice work, especially after I nearly mono'd a 250kg Kawasaki to let him in.
