Folks

This is my local club's big annual car show and it takes place over the weekend of 1st/2nd June 2013. Show day is Sunday 2nd June and there will be an area allocated to the Rover P6 to mark its 50th anniversary. It would be great to see as many P6s there as we can muster so get the date in your diary now and clear that weekend of anything else.

Check out the website for details as they emerge and I'll see you all there :D

I'll certainly do my best to make it over to this, Dave. Sounds like a good event!

I'll stick it in the Diary. How are they for numbers - I can try and rustle up a couple of MASC members in spridgets if that's an idea.

We generally get a handfull of P6s from here and there, around half a dozen or so. Overall this is a very BIG show so there's never any problem with numbers. I thought it would be good to match the other clubs' marques that turn up in strength. The more the merrier and as an anniversary marque they'll let us parade around the main show ring too :D (in our cars obviously  )

Folks

The Chairman of the Borders Vintage Auto Club has, through myself, formally invited both the Rover P6 Club and the P6 Rover Owners' Club to provide a Rover P6 display at this event in early June. The BVAC committee is in the process of planning for this event so is keen to get an indication of how many cars both clubs can provide. Can I therefore ask a representative of both clubs to let me know, either in open forum or pm me, if you would be willing to put on a P6 display.

Thanks

Dave

Thanks Both

Just another bump for this event. :D

Did I mention that it is FREE to attend, yes there is NO CHARGE for attending this event. So you have no excuses folks.

I know there are several P6s dotted around Scotland and the north of England that could easily make this event in a day so if you want to be part of the big 50th anniversary display please send me your details by PM or email so I know how many to account for on the day. I reckon 10 cars would make a good impression on those who don't hold the P6 in as high regard as other marques. Ten cars can't be that difficult to get there.....can it?

Dave

For anyone wishing to attend this event I now have all the information and passes ready to send out. If you want to attend please pm me your home address so I can send you out a pack. The P6 anniversary area will take pride of place between the castle and the main arena so the more the better.

See you there :D

The show field also looks dry for a change. I still have a few passes left for anyone who wants to turn up on the day let me know and I'll arrange to leave a pass at the entrance.

As predicted, we had a glorious day at Thirlestane Castle in the Scottish Borders yesterday. Thanks to those who travelled helping to make it another sucessful Rover P6 Club display. We had 8 cars in all on the club stand as well as 4 other individual entries that joined us in the anniversary enclosure. Pictures below, with some that I've borrowed from Andy King (thanks Andy)

Looks like a great day out Dave. I haven't made it to one show yet this year, other things keep cropping up.

I just got back into York I've actually done just short of 500 mile this weekend Robbie Rover never missed a beat for his second voyage out. I'm loving him what a joy to drive these wonderful machines. I had a awesome day congrats to all involved and all you long term p6 members whom made me feel very welcome. Hope to see you all again for much of the same.
Cheers all

Absolutely fantastic show, in the relatively short time I was there. A huge variety of cars, and amazing weather! I'd highly recommend it to anyone. I'll have my P6 there next year.

Looks like a great day! and nice to see a photo of Robin Wilds Estoura. I drove up to his home a year and a half ago to pick up an interior and he had TWO Estouras, BOTH in almond! That was the first time i'd seen an estate in person 8)
