Car cover w/display window

Evening all,

Has anyone found an outdoor car cover for a P6 that has a window for the tax disk? While I have assigned parking here in dismal London, the Demons of Wandsworth have decreed I must display a parking permit and tax disk at all times. Any guidance would be very well received.

I am closing in on my purchase having seen a few awful basket cases and missed a prime blue example on eBay; the last thing I want is to chose between avoiding a frost and getting clamped once purchased!

Many thanks,

Spinakerr

If you can't find one you could try cutting a hole in a cover and then bonding some flexible perspex on. Haven't done it myself as I have a drive  sorry :!:
where in london are you from you could join us on our meets and outings :D

if the wardens can see the number plate , can't they tell from their handhelds that the car is taxed and insured ?

They should be able to, but I doubt that they will be able to check whether it has a parking permit as that's local info, not DVLA.

There is still an offence of failure to display your tax disc, I've even heard of people having problems if they've put it in the middle of the screen behind the rear view mirror.

The disc itself should be scrapped, save on the printing costs, as Dave says you can find out in a few seconds if it's got tax from the reg no.

I like V8guy's idea, put you're own window in, either bonded or sewn in (if you have thin enough plastic, like convertible hood windows)

So if the bombers cant see your tax disc and issue you with an infringement notice - where do they stick it ?. On the car cover ?

Thanks for the responses guys - I checked with the unnervingly polite enforcer who said once they know a car they rarely check it. Once I've made my purchase I'll try further conversation and find out!

I was clamped the day I moved in here and do not want to shell out those notes again. (btw I am in SW19 v8guy, though the concrete Southfields end not the hoighty-toighty Wimbledon end).

If I find a pre-made solution I'll post it here; any working/laughable attempts I make add at modification will have photos posted.

In the mean time, on with the hunt for a 3500... someone said Mr Nick Dunning had one for sale...hmmm

Yes thats right Nick has, its on ebay at the moment, good luck with the hunt. You could easyly make the meet at the goat in shepperton every third Tuesday of the month from 8 pm, I occasionaly attend that one too.
