Carpet Fitting

Hi,

I'm nearly there with the main part of my resto of my 3500s, so the cars about to go back on the road. The problem I have is in fitting the new carpets. I have the sill pieces in place but they appear too long (its a new set). Unfortunatley I neglected to pay proper attention when the old carpets came out and I can't remember how the sill pieces correspond with the fluffy stuff that edges the door. Do the carpets just butt up to this, go underneath to be held in position or what? I'd appreciate advice.

The sill carpet is one of the tricky ones. the carpet butts up against the furry stuff that oulines the door. At the B/C post this is covered up anyway by the vinyl trim. The most difficult bit is the front wheel arch which requires quite a complex bit of folding and gluing. I analysed my old carpet that I took out to try to work out how this was folded - once you get that fold done correctly, the carpet wont appear to be too long and it will butt nicely against the furry stuff.

Hi,

Thanks thats great and i've got the sill carpets and back seat in now. Is there any chance someone could upload some piccys of the bottom of the 'b' pillar trim, so I can see how it should sit with the carpets?

Thanks

Nick :D
