Classic cars you really dont like...

It's the only 4 seater open top classic which i can think of which is pretty easily maintainable and should be fairly cheap to keep going once sorted whilst not being outpaced by modern traffic on a run?

Rich.

I know this thread is about what you dont like but having owned this XR3i cab for a year now I think this falls into your catorgory Richard :) its easy to maintain excellent parts availability and a 4 seated although it also has a centre lap belt in the rear and my 3 boys surprisingly fit

I do like that shape escort. Had an f reg Orion which was a good car. I also had a j reg Orion which is the worst car I've owned.

If we're looking at 80s classics the 200 and 900 convertible would also feature I guess.... :)

200 cabrio is very similar to the escort, a lot of the roof parts are the same.

K series aside, they're a decent enough car, but probably not old enough for most to consider a classic.

how about a nice 800 convertible...

Quite like Stags. They are proper blokes' motors :D :D

Ironically that was the market they were intended for, but they usually ended
up being driven by professional women (not that profession) or wives of
professionals of a certain age.

If I was in the market for a convertible to rival the Stag I think I would go for a Scimitar GTC (unfortunately swmbo hates them for some unknown reason). I have one in an instant, until it shorted the electrics and burnt out!

John.

GTC suffers all the same styling problems of the Stag, in fact it's remarkably similar to a Stag.

Styling wise, if pushed, I'd take the Stag, but I'd rather have a Graber P6 !!

They do look remarkably similar, but the Stag looks far classier, maybe it's the colour of the GTC, I did not think there was a worse colour than Almond, lol. Mind you, Stina might like it!

Dave

Yes, very odd. I've never liked the GTC either. And yet I really like the equivalent (SE6A?) GTE. There's definitely no logic involved in what looks right and what doesn't!

Chris

Yes, I also liked the old GTE's, I guess they just got old & bloated. A bit like comparing the sleek 60's Mustangs to some of the 70's versions.

I did have a scimitar about 25 years ago , an se5a , allot slimmer and i think better looking than the se6a . Quite a quick car too ! Mine was green Dave , not pink or almond

Hmmm I believe you Stina, thousands wouldn't though, lol.

Don't you start on the 'orrible Almond debate Rich. The funny thing is, I recently saw a couple of Almond monstrosities for sale on Ebay, one was up in Leeds & looked a bit rough (besides the colour that is!) the other one looked a bit better, to the point where I was trying to convince myself that Almond isn't that bad. Just couldn't do it though. Bur perhaps a step towards acceptance some time in the future!
