clutch query

Hi all,as a new member and a new owner of a '71 2000 SC I need some advise please.The clutch pedal feels like its catching as I lift it up,almost like a delay,no probs 2nd to 3rd to 4th but a buggar pulling off in 1st.Is that just the way it is and I've just got to get used to it?Any thoughts much appreciated.
 
Is the slave cylinder operating fully.

If you lie next to the car and get some one to operate the clutch pedal you can see if it is moving as far as it can.

The is a bit of adjustment but may just need bled.

check that the plastic pipe from the body to the clutch slave cylinder hasnt got any kinks in it as it will act like a restrictor
 
been a while i know but thanks for the suggestions.Put a new slave cylinder on and adjusted it a little and its definately a lot easier to drive now but can still feel it sticking somewhere like its catching on something.Have just got a master cylinder kit so am going to try that.Thanks again.
