Cold caller who called asking for a reasonably famous actor!

My parents today received a cold-call (from someone with a Southern-English accent, definitely not Indian) relating to "TV insurance" (no doubt a dodgy insurance provider), however the caller wanted not my parents, but rather a "Mr. Jeremy Irons" who they seem to think also resides there.

When my Father explained there was no "Mr. Jeremy Irons" living there, they seemed somewhat perplexed, and seemed to be surprised when it was explained to them that "Jeremy Irons" is in fact the name of a reasonably famous English actor!

Seriously though, somebody has been selling bad information, and also seeing they were British, surely they would have realised the name might have been fake!

I thought you were going to tell us they were looking for Darth Vader.

That WOULD be hilarious!

Seriously though, do these people not think the information they have been given might well be wrong/fabricated?!?!?!?

I often give your parents address and an assumed name to companies, they should expect calls for ron jeremy and mr and mrs wannamakeyabottywobble.

Like seriously am I the only person who puts silly names and previous addresses instead of my own. I feel really sorry for the person with the email address a@a.com, they must be the recipient of the bulk of the worlds pornography junk mail
