cosmo blue

i know i asked before but ... does anyone know what cosmo blue looks like? my heritage certificate advises car was cosmo blue in 1970 when supplied to a garage in kendal - are these certs reliable? :?
 
Corsica Blue was a colour that was on my 1970 Rover 2000 TC when I restarted my Rover interest (in 1988).
Corsica Blue was a colour on a club member's 1970 3500 S that was later written off in an accident.

Cosmo Blue never reached North America so I can't help with THAT colour on a Rover.

Cosmo Blue was never a colour applied by Rover, so that would seem to suggest that the certificiate is incorrect.

I'd agree - the archivist has mis-read the stated colour in the production register. Will be Corsica Blue.

I can understand why this has happened - when I was looking at the register researching my friend's ex-factory red 1966 car, it took about ten minutes to be able to decipher the handwriting stating the colour was 'Arabian Red'...

It's not that easy a job!

If it were me I'd go back there - there is public access - get the register out and check it myself, then ask for a new certificate.

If you can't do that, write in enclosing your certificate and ask them to check it again. I'm sure it's a mis-read of the record.

Typically I'm up there on Saturday (RSR AGM) but I doubt the record office will be open.

Thanks Nick, i'll follow it up - interest more than anything. Its now mustard yellow with a huntsman roof and I want to get it painted and thought original might be good - ever seen corsica blue with a brown roof? :)
