I love dragging up an old thread and this car seems like such an important piece of Rover's history I thought I'd nip on here and ask if there are any pictures of this car in its current state...?
Also, did we find out if its history was as we originally thought?! A real brochure car is something very special indeed
Hi All
I am the owner of CXC so thank you for all the kind and positive comments. I dont usually use forums so please excuse the lack input from myself!
Also sorry to everyone who feels the car should be original, unfortunetly the engine and gearbox were stolen, so as it was never going to be as original I decided to build the car I wanted. I ve owned CXC for 12 years where it has mainly sat in a garage, i didnt know she was a brochure car until I came in contact with Mr Dunning.
So the spec is street sleeper so it shouldnt be too difficult to imagine it looking standard! But she will run a 4.8 Rover on injection using an Emerald ECU. T5 TVR gearbox and Jaguar limited slip diff. It will be its original Scarab blue and a complete interior re trim in a colour very close to Mango. Brakes and wheels obviously uprated as will the fuel cell and many other one off parts.
At the moment as I understand the chassis is pretty much done, the engine should be finished in a couple of weeks as will the intreior. I am looking to have her painted in Febuary. So 2014 should bring a new MOT and the finished car!! I cant wait!! There isnt much to see at the moment but I am sure photos will appear in due course. Cheers Ian
