Hi Bungi can you not get the sump off with the engine in place??? I would really need a look underneath my car to refresh my memory, even if you could lower it enough to get your paws in, or could you get one of those bendy magnet things down the front? assuming the bit you dropped will stick to a magnet of course. Failing that you could always paint your face orange & shave all your hair off

Regards Colin

The sump will come of in 20 mins at the most, it's very very easy to do. When you do that will be worth while cleaning it out too. Because there are quite a few bolts I loosened them off with the socket then used my drill to undo them all the way, very fast. 8)
They don't use gaskets the sumps, just clean up the surfaces and use liquid gasket, I got some specificity from sumps from Halfords. It is one of the easiest things on the engine to take off. :)

im going to take the engine out and strip it and clean out and check everything then rebuild i have a 2200tc engine to go in but just depends what thats like hopfuly it will be ok for a stright swap
