dash gauge swap (round dials)

I have two complete dashboard clusters for round dials, one has a PSI marking for the oil pressure, the other has something else (it's slipped my mind)

Can I swap over the gauge unit itself without having to swap the sender over as well?

AND are there any differences in the clocks? My clock has stopped working, but I have a working clock in my spare gauge cluster.

thanks!

Hi Geoff,

I think from memory your oil pressure gauge is metric, therefore the units are BAR, where one BAR is equal to 100,000 Pascals (1 kPa). There is no problem in swapping the instruments over, the needle will still move the same according to pressure, the only difference will be the units of measure that you see.

The clocks can also be swapped over provided the plastic panel with the hand adjustment is appropriately matched. There are two different types of the push knob to adjust the hands, a long and short one, so it is my understanding that the clock needs to match the push knob, else you won't be able to adjust the hands.

Ron.

Most excellent. I will probably hand it all over to the new mechanic I found and get him to do it. :)

I've noticed that the clock in my car uses power, but it just doesn't move. Hopefully the two are interchangeable.
