had my first night drive this weekend a d low and behold no dash lights, hasanyone got advice on upgrade bulbs for a rover P6 2000 SC 1967 model

I'm not sure about the earlier Series 1 cars, but later facelift P6s have a knob you can twist on the side of the instrument panel with which to increase the brightness of the dash lights, or make them dimmer. Maybe you've just got them on the gloomy setting?

Gloomy I had a tea candle throw more light twiddle left n right n nowt at all

LED bulbs are the answer. Could previously barely see the(Series 1) instruments at night despite turning the rheostat fully on.

Now they are easily read.

Just dont put an LED in the alternator warning light position - the alternator wont start charging.
