The wheels on my car are dunlop Denovo items, which have an alloy centre fixed to a chromed outer steel part. The chrome has gone - has anyone had these wheels rebuilt? where? who? how much? ???
oh, odd as the previous owner thought these were donovo's - they look like the alloys you got on stag's and V8 MGB's, perhaps thats what they are off, if Stags had 5 stud hubs. Will try and get a picture tonight.
I presume they are the same 14 inch 5J Dunlop wheel size? is the offset written on them somewhere?
They look good, I'm on the look-out for a usable MGBGTV8 set for my mates B. But of course they are going to be tricky to restore as the rims will need to be parted from the center - plenty of electrolytic corrosion to deal with.
Give these a call, as at just ~£50 a corner it's not worth doing yourself ? Wrong end of the country I know, but gives you an idea.
Dont know about offset - will have a look - I am thinking of power coating - just wonder how long it will be before it cracks where the centre meets the rim... There are a few firms up here that do this, but I might just clean them up and paint the chrome rims silver or black - I can grit blast the rust of the rims myself and then treat it with some of that deox stuff which removes all the rust. I might get some of the 'chrome' finish paint frost etc do... This is all assuming mick finds the bloody wheel nuts - there were only 3 on each hub when I picked the car up! - maybe MGBGTV8 nuts will do - I'm in the mgoc - must have a word soon!
Do you think these might have been on the car since new - it was a deal demo model for many years - need to try and reseach this claim a bit more as well!
