Does my colour have a number - Paint colour referencing

Bilmac

New Member
Hi to everyone,

I am sure that at some point I have seen a post in this forum which made reference to a number for paint colours. I seem to remember that this reference number was important in obtaining the correct colour finish.
Can anyone enlighten me with a reference number for Almond Yellow on my 71 2000TC? Any help with a possible supplier would also be appreciated.

Merry Xmas

Bilmac ???

Bilmac,
the Ault & Wiborg paint code for Almond is GL28774 and was used from Sept.'70 to Sept.'75 --- 'tho I'm sure Mike is right, there are a variety of Almond coloured cars about!
Regards, John.

Best way to get a good match is to take a panel down, or the whole car, to you local paint factors and get them to mix it to match :D
Ok it’s better if you have a small panel or bit you have cut out, i.e. if you have replaced wings, cut a section out of old wing that has good paint on it and take that down
:D

Thanks guys;
I was not aware that more than one shade of Almond existed, perhaps the best thing to do is get an expert opinion. Do you know of anyone with the expertise in Lincolnshire?

Thanks JohnGlinn

I will try to source a sample of paint under the reference you quote and paint up a small sample for comparison with the motor.
