I'm watching these door threads too.. the rear drivers side door has visible daylight visible between it and the rubber at the top!

Ill take some pics, but my main problem is i cant seem to move the doors up or down on the hinges as i have irregular gaps on my rear doors which cause these doors to be difficult to open, close and dont have the reassuring "clunk" when they close haynes manual give no help with this really.......sigh...

To move them up, undo the lock nuts on the hinges, then loosen the bottom hinge a fair bit. Tighten the top one and the door will rise. When you get it where you want it, tighten the lower one so there is no play, and then tighten the lock nuts.

cheers Gentlemen........ ill give it a try......

Word of warning

Check the door catches and anti burst device line up after you adjust the door as they can jam if they don't. Don't ask me how I know this

On a similar topic on mine the door seems to line up with the locks and wing ok, but at the top the frame of the window doesnt go near enough to the roofline? Would any of you experienced types be able to recommend an easy way to adjust this out? Is it possible to loosen the frame and push it up a little or wuold this be the wrong thing to try :)

Yes Rich, just loosen all of the fixings on the frame and ease it up a bit. Don't forget the numerous self tappers that hold the weatherstrip on as these hold the frame as well - I may have dreamt that last bit :)

I have been through this process recently and suggest the following things to think about. I suspect firstly that the door gaps when new were not brillaint. Rover must have designed huge door gaps with seals rivetted behind for a reason!. Secondly, I stood back and looked at my car from about 20 feet to see what actually catches the eye. I decided that provided the door gaps are parallel top to bottom, and not very small or huge, then getting them all the same doesn't matter you don't "see" this. Also, try to align the stainless door frames verticallywith the centre pillar between the doors as this is another focus point for the eye.

Gap at the top of PAE's door on the drivers side is big enough for wet to get in past the rubber ... I think that does need fixing ;)

I had a similar problem, but my gap was because the frame wasn't pulling in against the seal. I altered the position of the frame inwards at the top and put a shim in the bottom door hinge to move the bottom out (hopefully moving the top in). I still ended up slightly dressing out the top edge of the rear pillar to push the rubber out a bit!
