Electronic Ignition for P6B

I have recently installed a electronic ignition kit from Classicheads.com (Jolly Engineering) out of U.K. Working great, but the mechanic that helped me install it left off the original wire from the tachometer to the coil as he was scared to reconnect it back on the (new coil) for fear of damaging the new unit
I am not sure whether to put it back or not. They do not mention anything about it in their instructions and I have contacted them, and they say it should be o.k. but they dont seem definate. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Re the electronic ignition on the P6B. My friend that helped me instal it left off the tach wire to the coil, because he did not understand the Rover circuitry.
It made me nervous about reconnecting it, but after further study and contact with other Rover owners, I reconnected it and all is well.
Running like a charm!
